Healing in the AM

Every Monday morning is usually rough for me. After a great weekend of sleeping in and relaxing I finally return to the grind and 4:30 wake up call. I take a bus to the street where the School is and every other day I would wait for a small truck that piles people in the back and takes them down the street for about 9 Baht  (30 cents). However, on Mondays, I am sometimes fortunate enough to run into one of my coworkers who goes home on the weekends, but during the week stays closer to the school. He also takes the bus to the end of the street but then takes a taxi in towards the school. This week, God did something amazing.

This week I noticed that my friend had missed a few days of work. He told me he still wasn't feeling well. Praying for him was the first thought in my mind as we jumped into the taxi. Going down the street he told me how he got an infection in his ear that traveled down near his jaw and into his neck. He went to two different doctors, each of them giving him injections that did nothing to ease the pain. The entire taxi ride, he was holding his jaw and expressing his pain through facial expressions. I knew he was a Christian, so I asked him if he went to church this weekend. He said yes, so I asked him if he had anyone pray for him or if anyone offered to pray for him. Much to my surprise, he said no.

After we got out of the taxi, at about 6am, I asked him if we could step to the side so I could pray for him before we parted ways into our schedule. He said okay. So I placed my hand on his shoulder and began quoting scripture as I prayed "(my people) shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover" (Mark 16:18). I then declared authority over the infection as my hands moved from his shoulder to his jaw. When I commanded the sickness to leave in Jesus name, I took my hands off and looked at him. He said he felt a warm sensation in his jaw. I asked him if there was any more pain and he said no as a huge smile went across his face. I asked how he felt and he was speechless. He just laughed in joy and I told him how God loved him and wanted him to be healed. I told him go and do likewise and we both walked into our days.

I've prayed for people often and seen them get healed. God is so faithful and he's given us the authority to go and show his love to people. Praying for people and seeing them get healed shouldn't be some mystic occurrence that we only see at "revivals" or inside of a church building. It should be part of our everyday lives. I implore you to GO and DO likewise. To God be the Glory.
